Hello gang,

I am friends with a broadcaster: http://en.wikipedia....t_(broadcaster)   I have just completed a Windows Phone 8 app for his new show: http://new.livestrea.../events/2192414

He is looking for someone to create the iPhone and Droid apps.  I will give the developer my c# code, so hopefully the work will be minimal.   He does wants the app to be free, but you can add advertising to the app.  He will also mention you and your sites.  You can see what the app looks like on my site:  http://blissgig.com/display.aspx?id=26  The app is very simple, just an RSS reader that pulls XML from his site, and then plays the audio file the user selects.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

AS a C# programmer, you should be able to manage the Android app yourself, it's just Java...

Yeah as long as there's good decoupling between your UI and business logic, you should be able to re-use most of your code by using Xamarin Studio. You only need to re-do the UI for iOS and then another one for Android. The starter edition is free and allows you to publish although there are restrictions on app size.

I agree that I CAN do it, however to avoid making Alex look bad by not have any knowledge of the languages and devices.  I also believe that someone might want the publicity.  I could be wrong, and I am not trying to be rude or thoughtless.  I too have been asked to work for free by people who are making a living at their craft/business but think that what I do is simple.  I hope that the fact that I am giving some base code, the advertising revenue and the recognition would be worth-wild.  Alex has been known for a long time in many markets, he's just off 9 years on Sirius FM.  If it is not enough, then I understand and hope no one thinks me rude or thoughtless of me for making this request.

Oh, not at all.  I'm sure there are folks here with the time to take you up on the offer as well.  I was just commenting, in case you'd not looked into it yourself, that for an Android version at least, it should be relatively simple for you to convert your code to java. Mono is another option as well, of course.

and I really do appreciate the info.  This may have to be the course we take unless he is willing to pay a developer.
