Our prison system is not the reason why we have more crime than you do. We have different people here. If we had a prison system like yours i'm almost 100% certain that gang members would still be out there robbing, killing and selling drugs. You can't rehabilitate someone that doesn't want to change and sorry to say there's a lot of people that don't want to change.

Games and internet access for murderers a rapists lol wow..That sure is a deterrent to murderers and rapists.

Arguably you have different "people" (wow, that's the most ridiculous argument I've seen since forever, yes, because we don't have gangs and such here ) because you have a ###### prison system who's only purpose is to punish people.

if yo paid any attention you would have noticed that the trial prison in America whichi actually learns from european prisons and focuses on the prisoners and on rehab, is rehabiliating not only regular criminals but even helping and rehabilitating your hardened gang criminals.

It's not the criminals who are different in America, it's the other people, people like you, who think they are better than the criminals, and who think they deserve to be punished rather than helped, because it makes YOU feel better knowing other people are suffering because you feel they are lesser than you and deserve it. therefor you don't want to know and admit that they can be helped and become useful citizens. Meanwhile your pirson system is slowly starting to learn from these small trial prisons and seeing that your system is broken and needs to be fixed and that fixing the prison system is the first step to fixing your crime problem, not arresting and punishing more people.

Yes, much better that we start putting people in chains again. Hell why not bring back public floggings and the rack whilst we're at it. It won't do anything to reduce crime, but as long as the right wing brigade get to fulfil their desire for revenge, everything is golden!

There are people in this thread who would welcome that, and would not only be first in line to watch, bringing his kids, he'd be first in line to help flog.

The more i see "Modern" prisons the more i think that we are paying Tax money to send criminals on vacation. I have even heard of people committing petty crimes to get sent back to prison because its a better life in there than out.

Criminals aren't different here than in norway? When was the last time norway  had 10-12 teens rape two women? There's things that criminals do here that would make you **** your pants. To stop criminals doing what they do it doesn't start with prison..

It's called institutionalized, inside those walls they may be important people. Out on the streets many of them don't have anything. Can't get a job, family has long since abandoned them, no friends....etc.  "The Shawshank Redemption" comes to mind. ;)

And yes, to stop and rehabilitate criminals DOES start with prison, well first it starts with changing you the better than thou people who enjoy inflicting pain, vengeance and torture on other people.

as for those people who think modern prisons are "vacations" I welcome you to voluntarily take a 1 year vacation, or even a quick 1 month vacation in a comfy Norwegian prison and we'll see what you say.

Let me ask you a question, where do you get this "better than thou" from. Where do you get that I enjoy inflicting pain on someone because I am not seeing it.

Anyone that thinks justice is served by vengeance usually takes enjoyment in the suffering of the criminal, it's a simple leap of logic.

When did I say anything about vengeance. Judging someone because they let the law follow its course is idiotic. And suffering of a criminal, yes this video I posted clearly shows the suffering of the criminal. The criminal needs to be punished by having his freedoms taken away. Is that suffering? Or is that the justice taking its course??

You've liked pretty much every post that's said criminals should suffer, that speaks for itself.

Pretty much every post? You just love judging people though. I've noticed that about you. Instead of having an opinion on a subject you'd rather have an opinion on a commenter. Which makes you nothing but fluff when it comes to threads because you add nothing when you judge others.

Ok one post (along with your attitude in the other thread about the rape). Still tells me the same thing.

What about the HIV thread? Please that fool deserved it. That doesn't mean I want to see criminals hung and quartered. Get over it.

Anyone that supports the death penalty supports penal violence.
