GAME stores across the UK are offering gamers a guaranteed ?40 trade-in value on certain current-gen games when ?grading up? to next-gen editions of the same title.

 

MCV reports that GAME is offering the deal on a range of PS3 and Xbox 360 titles when traded for PS4 and Xbox One editions.

So far, Battlefield 4, FIFA 14 and Call of Duty: Ghosts are confirmed as part of the deal, although it?s not clear if you can take advantage of the offer when trading cross-platform ? For example: trading a PS3 edition of FIFA 14 for the Xbox One version.

I'm not planning on buying any titles twice but this seems like a pretty good deal although I suspect that all but confirms pretty much all new titles will come with a ?50 price tag so that they can ensure they still make some money off of this.

It'll be the same situation as it was when the 360 first came out: GAME charge ?50 for the games, and you go buy them for ?40 elsewhere.

To be fair it's not a bad deal - and it'll stop people holding off for the next-gen.
