Some UK stores offer Forza Motorsport 5 as free game with Xbox One Day One edition
by John Callaham

Microsoft made a bold move in August when it announced that all copies of the Xbox One Day One edition in Europe would come with a free digital download copy of FIFA 14. However, it would appear that not all Europeans like football and want a choice. In the UK, some retailers are offering such a choice.

Gamespot reports that Amazon UK, ShopTo, and Game are now letting people who pre-order the Day One edition to switch their free game from FIFA 14 to Forza Motorsport 5, the Xbox One exclusive racing simulator that's being developed in-house by Microsoft's Turn 10 Studios.

There's no word yet why these retailers were given a way to let their consumers pick FIFA 14 or Forza Motorsport 5. However, we suspect that some UK gamers who are not fans of the FIFA franchise are appreciating the fact that some stores are offering them a choice of free games with their Xbox One purchase.

The big question: Will Microsoft offer this same free game offer in the US? So far, Microsoft has yet to state that this promotion will expand beyond Europe but it's possible that could change between now and the Xbox One's launch date of November 22nd.
