Doctor sued after surgery leaves woman with too tight vagina

Recommended Posts

A Quebec City couple is suing a gynecologist for $225,000, claiming post-delivery surgery left the woman's vagina too tight to have sex.

The woman was admitted to CHUL hospital in September 2010 and gave birth to a boy.

The suit says Dr. Guy Bolduc had performed an episiotomy, a common procedure in which an incision is made below the vagina to facilitate delivery.

The doctor noted an internal vaginal tear after the baby was born, and performed surgery to repair the problem, says the suit.

He then advised his patient to avoid sex for six weeks.

The new mother says she followed the recommendations but that a follow-up exam by a second doctor a month later found the stitches had come apart.

The plaintiff and her husband tried to have sex for the first time in December 2010, which proved impossible because of the pain, says the lawsuit.

The plaintiff returned to the second doctor who found "a fairly rigid strip of scarring and narrowing of the vagina preventing penetration."

She was given two options: reconstructive surgery or daily vaginal dilation exercises.

The woman said she chose the latter option, but claims in court documents that sex was still painful by the fall of 2011 and that she still had a significant narrowing.

The woman is suing Dr. Bolduc for physical harm, pain, stress, frustration and loss of enjoyment of life.

Her husband is asking for $75,000 in damages for pain and suffering.

i can understand where this would be a problem but they could do what so many other people do and

use lube and stretch it back out over time, it will be painful for a month or so, then business as usual.

Scar tissue is a PITA to "stretch out".

I cut my hand back 1995 and severed all tendons to my fingers and wrist but two.

It was nearly a year before I got back partial use of my hand, and a huge chunk of scar tissue was attached to part of my hand, making it hard to flex due to pain and feeling like it was tearing the skin.  It took a good 3 years to get that scar tissue to stretch out, and I assure you it saw more activity than this woman's vajayjay.

So I'm sure it will "work itself out" in the next 6-7 years ;)

Having been with a girl who was too tight to (shall we just sod being delicate here?) "take me"... It was painful both of us when trying.  Hahaha, story about ###### and all that - but this is a fairly important case - I mean, the doctor has now stopped a married couple being able to have a penetrative relationship.

Not to be a pervert or anything, but how do those exercises work?

For my ex, it amounted to starting small, a pinky finger, and working up. The process takes a very long time. Even a pinky finger its to big and hurts depending on how severe the issue is. With vaginismus, there is no room at all for it. It is a complete blockage so even the pinky finger would hurt like hell for the girl. It took about 3 months before we were able to have sex and even then it was painful for both of us.

Depending on the issue, they can range from inserting two fingers and opening them like scissors, to using a tapered "dildo", to using an inflating bag. Just depends.

Also, whilst it is true vaginas do loosen, they loosen due to muscle stretching. The actual inside of the vagina doesn't stretch an awful lot, and that's where this issue occurred.

Those suggesting just "**** it out" are just.. hmm..

Maybe if HE gets $75,000

He could use it to make his gentlemen appendage smaller?

Problem solved!

Plus! Then hes actually suffered, and been in pain. Validating the hole (s)he-bang (see what i did there) :p
