Hello World Quiz

Recommended Posts

I scored 900 my first time. There were a couple questions where I got lucky and guessed right, and there were a couple that I should have recognized but guessed wrong. (The prime example of one I should have recognized but did not was Vala.) Therefore overall I think my score is fairly accurate. However it does seem like the languages presented in the quiz got increasingly more obscure.

After 4 tries I reached a high score of 2900. That is probably the best I am going to get. I guess I'll go back to doing real work now.

800, what in the hell is LOLICODE et al ?

I actually have the Wikipedia entry for that one bookmarked. I stumbled upon it years ago and thought it was so hilarious that I had to bookmark it.

Since when is OMGROFL or LOLCode a programming language? Is parts of this quiz meant to be a joke?

Several of the languages included in the quiz, including the two you mentioned, were designed as a joke - not serious programming languages. If you had any question that the quiz was not intended to be completely serious, I think the inclusion of "Shakespeare" as a programming language is a dead give-away.

Oh, okay :)

Also never saw the "Shakespeare" one when answering the questions.

1500, not bad for my first try. :)

That joke of a language is Turing-complete, thank you very much ;)

Several compilers and interpreters exist for those languages.
