Hmm, let's see.  I'll throw a few more bands out there, although you may have heard of most of them:

1.  Death Cab For Cutie

2.  The Postal Service (Ben Gibbard is also the vocalist in Death Cab)

3.  Chiodos (Slightly heavier band, but Craig Owens has an awesome voice)

4.  Saosin

Pretty long list, Deftones FTW!!! ( though Koi no yokan is meh...)

Oh, I know. They really haven't done anything as good as White Pony. I'm interested to hear the unreleased Eros though.

If you like Metal, give Sylosis a listen to.

I prefer their first album Conclusion of an Age.

Just seen them last week with Trivium, and they were amazing, unfortunately they were in an accident, and had to drop off the tour. :(

Been learning a lot of Four Year Strong on guitar recently and this has got to be one of my favourite songs to play!

Randomly remembered this thread earlier and thought I'd pop back and give you some more suggestions and see if we can revive it a bit! These are a little on the "heavy" side but they're not post-hardcore so thought they'd fit in here since I suppose you could still class them as alt :p

One of my favourite bands right now, they are insane!

This is my favourite music video, ever.

Wow!

I think I've only heard of 1 band mentioned out of them all, and that was BooBerrys Chevelle, in this thread!

Not into this type music what so ever, but thought I'd take a look and see what others are suggesting.

Doves:

  1. Kingdom of Rust
  2. 10:03
  3. Compulsion
  4. Push Me On
  5. Here it Comes
  6. The Man Who Told Everything
  7. The Cedar Room
  8. Valley
  9. Almost Forgot Myself
  10. Snowden
  11. Sky Starts Falling
  12. There Goes The Fear
  13. Pounding
  14. Caught By The River

The Boxer Rebellion:

  1. Diamonds
  2. Always
  3. Caught By The Light
  4. Flashing Red Light Means Go
  5. Soviets

Beach House:

  1. Everything from their Album "Bloom", but especially Myth, Lazuli, Other People, Wishes

Real Estate:

  1. Everything on their latest album "Atlas"

The Zolas:

  1. Ancient Mars
  2. Cab Driver

Jets Overhead:

  1. This Way
  2. No Nations
  3. I Should be Born
  4. Tired of the Comfort
  5. Seems So Far

Just a sampling.  I'll post more from the other bands later.  You should remember, though, these aren't pop bands who typically produce an album with 1 or 2 good songs that are released as singles, and the rest of the album is lame.  These bands have whole albums that I can easily listen to over and over.  The new Charlatans album, "Modern Nature" is a perfect example.  It's just brilliant!

....

i am not a big fan of indie rock much, i listen to lounge and electronic music, as well as mostly non english speaking music (folk, rock, ska punk, jazz, triphop)

i tried the 2 The Zolas tracks, as that is the only band you gave only 2 recommendations from.

i can see myself enjoying them as background music while doing stuff.  seem very pleasing to the ears.

i will have to check the rest later
