Looking at Gmail's wiki page, it say that Gmail started working on April 1st 2004. So i got my account less than 3 months after it started. :) I still remember that it was by invites and everyone went crazy looking for someone to send them an invite, lucky i had some people that had connections and i got my invite very fast. I had another account that I created in June 2004, but on 1st July 2004 I created a firstname.lastname address, which I still use as my main email address. Max Norris Posted September 14, 2013 Share Posted September 14, 2013 Couldn't say when exactly, sometime late 2004/early 2005, like a few others I only use webmail accounts for forum registrations, etc.. primarily spam-catchers for my real mail accounts and only look at them when needed or the occasional "nuke it all" action once in a while. There was a website where you gave them your unused invites and they turned giving them out into a game. I believe it was like a slot machine or something and you won your invite that way.
