Xerino
what does the BSOD error say?
Top Qat
We need to start doing some basic tests to try narrow down the cause. First do a full memory test, software from here http://www.memtest86.com/ You need to run this until you have atleast 1 full pass. It could still be an overheating issue, what are you using to measure your temps?
Xerino
I am guessing that since it is during gaming, Im going to guess its the video card, if you have an extra card laying around, pop that in, run prime95, and see what happens
GamerGuy88
Ive been using CPUID HWMonitor to track the temps I don't believe that's it The BSOD error BlueScreen 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 1033 BCCode 124 I checked the driver reporting the Issue its the Hal.dll
GamerGuy88
Ill be honest I never can get memtest86to work is their any other memory testing options that you trust ?? And sadly I don't have a spare GPU at the moment
Mando
BCCode 124 is General hardware so id wager either ram or the GPU driver, or a curveball may be the PSU not supplying enough amperes on the 12v Rail. Number crunching/3d mode will pull max power from your PSU. If its having to run at full pitch to supply it could be causing brownouts if its struggling to provide. GamerGuy88
Top Qat I dont believe it is a overheating issue due to the fact my temps are all fine while I run Prime 95 and it get gives me a blue screen Mouth - I just downloaded CPU-Z quick walk through on what your talking about ? Mando- The GPU driver is up to date but my gut is its the Ram or even that power issue

I would run a memory test like someone else said. Ha.dll is a hardware issue. Any additions/changes to hardware recently? Any drivers updated at the same time this issue started? Did you monitor your temps under heavy load?

GamerGuy88
It was a bad stick of memory boys Doesn't anyone know how to see how whats the cap on the amount of ram speed my mother board can handle ?
articuno1au
It was rather obviously memory having read this O.o Memtest is ALWAYS the first step. I don't care if your computer is on fire, the first check is always memory.. Memory is one of the few things that fails like this..

GamerGuy88
Could this be a power supply issue and how would I know ?
sc302 Veteran Posted September 27, 2013 Veteran Share Posted September 27, 2013 well if it is a power supply issue it would be because you are over loading it. Best bet would be to check your power requirements or use a power supply calc and go one size bigger than recommended to be safe and allow for growth. Best bet would be to take your dump file and put it into this: http://www.osronline.com/page.cfm?name=analyze paste the results. We can help you better that way....or we can guess every post you make.
