Grand Theft Auto fan is STABBED, HIT WITH A BRICK AND ROBBED in London

Ouch.  Guess people buying the game think GTV is real and not just a video game?

No. Just people like you think that GTA is real.

He was robbed of items he had bought from a nearby Asda supermarket... including a copy of Grand Theft Auto.

So for all we know, he bought diamonds with that GTA copy and was robbed on his way home from the shop, just like many others around the world that didn't have any GTA copies on them or even knew the game was released/existed.

Its one of the downsides to midnight launches, not many people around once you have left the shop.. and you're carrying something with a high resell value.

The media are using this as an excuse to jump on the whole violence in game thing.

People get stabbed and mugged in London all the time it never makes the headlines this much.

I bet the only possible link between the robbing and GTA is that perhaps the robber thought he could easily target little gaming nerds wandering around alone at night. Most articles don't state he was also robbed of his phone and wallet.. it just so happens he had GTA on him which was also stolen, obviously, it's in high demand people will pay for it on the black market.

:pinch: .  Glad he survived.  Honestly, if someone tried to mug me on the street I'd give them whatever they wanted.  My life is not worth the possessions that are on me, I don't carry a gun, and I don't know kung-fu.

You must be some bad ass to come up with a zinger like that....

Err yeah doesn't mean that GTAV casues violence.  The guy would have been robbed even if he didn't have GTAV.  They robbed everything off him, money etc.

From reading the article, how is this even related to GTA V other than the fact that was part of his stolen property?  He was robbed on the way home, and anything he had on hand was stolen at the time also?  Sensationalized headline.
