[IN DEVELOPMENT] bbLean revived

(I registered just for this, after seeing it popping up in Google).

Looking forward to seeing progress - would probably be up for a bit of testing, but I am not that familiar with bb yet. Even so, if I can contribute something, I would be happy to.

Why is this not on github?

Out of curiosity, how well does this work with newer versions of firefox? Since with the old version of bblean, you cant close tabs and web developer tools and some other stuff are broken.

Because Neowin is not a platform for free advertising to other sites

What?

I say Git it, get it up on there for all to see and contribute.

User is most likely a bot and will never post again, also it's in the rules, so asking why it's not on this site or that site is technically advertising their site

Amazon and ebay get a free pass here as we have the Neobay

and so on, but I didn't see anything for github in the threads, well, ever

Github is a place to store code so others can download it and view it online, for a project like this it's free and loads of projects use it for hosting... I don't really see what it's got to do with advertising?

I'm not a bot. I haven't been active because of the holidays.

He was meaning the person that suggested why it was not on GIT

Hi there, I thought I should stop by , register and post that I am happy using bblean 1.17.1 x64 version vanilla from the official site under windows 8.1 x64 professional.

So far so good. I am not using bbleanbar(it's toggled off, I cannot stand anything wasting screen estate I am not looking at), toggled off BBanalog clock, only a small traybar in some corner of the screen to see from time to time if i got skype, utorrent, miranda, whatever already open. I use launchy mostly to launch my apps, windows+run dialog sometimes and I will eventually dump launchy for FARR(find I run robot).

Utter minimalism! BBlean is 7.9Mb in task manager

And one last note you will be shocked to hear how I returned now in 2014 (Happy New Year!) to bblean : I couldn't stand windows tasbkar, visible or not(with the fact that hidden was even worse overlapping other windows). The fact that Macrosoft  wouldn't let me disable it. I knew what I had to do. Dump the taskbar's mother altogether  as a shell. Use another, use bblean which sat patiently on my data partition for times like these.

Keep it Up! and I encourage more people to use it.

I am using firefox 26.0 under bblean 1.17.1 64bit and it works very well. I have firefox.exe line in exclusions.rc section: prorgams that come with their own skin. I can toggle in and out of fullscreen in firefox with no problems whatsoever. I must mention that I enjoy pentadactyl addon that strips away all toolbars + another one that gets me rid of the titlebar leaving me with all screen estate and the only left corner orange button and the captions to the right. I will better show you a screenshot and save my breath :)

Now I see your concerns were with the developper tools in firefox. I have tested and found that toggling web dev tools with the default shortcuts ctrl+shift+i or ctrl+shift+j doesn't work not even with bbleanskin disabled. Toggling manually by going menu/tools/web developer/toggle tools, works. BUt is cumbersome. May I suggest FIREBUG.

I 've installed it from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/firebug/ and toggling with F12 works smoothly. It does the same.

(I'm not very good with coming up with project names. :/ Also, my first post here on Neowin :D)

I hope at least someone will be interested in my small project.

I noticed how the last build of bbLean released was in 2009 (a bit over 4 years ago). I also noticed how little x64 plugins there are. So, I have decided to make this project in the hopes to bring bbLean up to speed.

Current development status: Alpha (not tested thoroughly, initial tests successful)

Latest x64 bbLean compile status: Success, x64

Compiler used: MinGW64 4.7.3

I don't have any screenshots at the moment since I'm still developing i

Sorry to bump this thread but are you still working on this? I stopped using bblean when I switched to Win7 because I was afraid of compatibility issues. Thanks.
