Anyone manage to get a iPhone 5s

Recommended Posts

Has anyone managed to get their hands on an iPhone 5s.

I went to the apple store in Reading at about 7am this morning, 200m ish queue and told buy one of the staff they have no 5s's everyone is queuing for a 5c...

Gone back home and ordered online instead.

So was wondering if others have had the same issues? or if some people have managed to get one.

Yeah, I don't want to go on contract though, and a provider store like EE will only sell on contract.

Works out ?200 more expensive over 24 months for me to go on contract.

Went into the Apple store this morning with my wife to get her an upgrade and they were all sold out. Said it would be 10 days before they got a grey one and 21 days before they got the white or gold. Said they did have a few 5C's but my wife didn't want one of them.

I waited in line at my local BestBuy at 6am. By the time the store opened at 8am there were about 15 people in line. Only color they had was the space grey, so I got it. I also bought the Green 5c for my wife.

oh and btw, they were out of 5S but they had LOTS of 5c lol

Next to the 5s, who would?! $100 extra for better specs, a badass looking phone... It's a no brainer. I think Apple did themselves a favor here. They reduced manufacturing costs making it easier on them to support the existing platform while introducing their next phone lineup. Makes sense.

Personally there was no way I was going to get the C for me or my wife

I ordered one from Apple online store for my wife's birthday.  Hope the rumor that the T-Mobile ones being unlocked is true.  My receipt says its an unlocked phone, anyway.  Conflicting information online.  I'll just check the IMEI when it arrives I guess.

I have 2 weeks left on my Sprint contract, and then I'm jumping ship over to AT&T.  Hopefully they have the black/gray 5S in stock by then, so I don't have to spend any longer on this POS carrier.

ordered 2 phones online... 32 gb space grey and gold (for mom)...delivery time estimate of oct 10 to 16.  called the apple store near work and they said they have 64 gb space grey.

half an hour later i walked out with the 64 gb, now i'm sitting at my desk with my left brain struggling to justify the huge splurge and the right brain going "oOoOo...fast"

i upgraded from a 4S and this is a beautiful machine, no doubt about that.

we already have 2 32Gb Space Gray models floating around here at work that the company owns and one of them is already having problems with the headphone jack not working properly and the volume up button is stuck and you cannot turn the volume down.

Sprint has gone seriously down hill :(.  Their whole switch between WiMax and LTE in my area left my Wife without data service for months because her EVO 4G didn't support their data network.  When she called to complain they just tried to get her to upgrade a new phone before her contract expired (locking her in again).  Nah, we waited it out and she is currently on my iPhone 4 using Net10 as her provider ($45/month ain't bad and it uses AT&T towers).  Can't wait to give her the 5S for her birthday.  She doesn't see it coming.

Sprint isn't even close to being the cheapest service provider anymore.  Not with T-Mobile, and all the pre-pay networks that are available, cheaper, and are on better networks than what Sprint has setup.  Not sure what Sprint has going for it anymore.  Their unlimited data plan I guess.  What good is it at their pathetic network speeds?

Yup, it's simply terrible.  I'm embarrassed that I paid for 2 years of data service that's basically been unusable.  Less learned. :)  I can't think of a time where I've been more excited for something than the 8 days left until I can be set free from Sprint.  I think the last thing I have for them to do is release my phone number, so I can transfer it to AT&T.  I'm really hoping it doesn't turn into a nightmare. 8 Days!

You don't have to ask Sprint to release your number.  When you sign up for AT&T service you will be asked if you are transferring your number.  AT&T will handle it on their end, and with the phone number transfer the service is automatically cancelled on Sprint's end.  My wife just called Sprint after a day or two of being on Net10 to confirm that her service had properly been cancelled.  It had.

Same when I went from AT&T to StraightTalk.  StraightTalk handled the phone number transfer and canceling my service with AT&T.

That is right.

All to do is ask the new provider to transfer your current number to them. They will do the rest.
