The PS4 is a much more refined design than the Xbox One. I expect Microsoft will launch a slimmer model pretty sharpish. Them taking inspiration from the original Xbox was a bad idea.

I bet that idiot was laughing his ass off when he posted this...

Hooray?

Yea.. it kind of sucks.. would have prefered seeing the PSU..

Seriously though.. if you can't find humor in this.. you REALLY REALLY need to lighten up.

Unless the new design means they last longer then it's fine. The original Xbox is a tank, people still have them working like they're brand new.

Ok, why is it a much more refined designed? I find the One cleaner than the ps4 and I prefer and external PS.

Also how is it inspired by the original Xbox ?

Why do you prefer an external PSU ?

Don't know about you but hardly anything in my house has an external PSU and I'm pleased it is that way.

Remains to be seen how quiet the PS4 actually is which is about the only argument I can think of. Breaking down practically never happens with the many devices I've owned over years.

If the Xbox One was actually rather small, it wouldn't be the worse thing in the world.

I can't see any valid reason to prefer an external PSU, not when the Xbox One is physically larger than the PlayStation 4. In fact the external PSU for the Xbox 360 was responsible for a lot of stability issues, especially when it was placed on carpets or rugs.

Really? I've never heard of that. Never thought it would be a problem - laptops don't seem to have this problem.

I understand that its a joke, it must would've been more relevant in, maybe, 2005 when we maybe weren't sure if people cared about this. 75 million 360's later and this joke just becomes a lame attempt at humor because its pretty clear its a nonissue and has been for a long time. Its not really something that needs to be brought up in any capacity.

I don't think anyone would say they prefer it. People just don't care about it.

You were saying?

Because an external removes heat elements and thus fan noise from the console. If it breaks it's easier to replace. The console would be bigger with it, and it can be easily hidden.

I don't see any reason why I would want the console PSU internal.

Smaller with more powerful internals and no external PSU, can also be positioned upright. Its not difficult.

Um they said so.

To be fair... a 120W PSU is like... almost nothing nowadays, hell, even my Corsair CX600 is quite small.

Your hands must be much bigger than mine, as I've got a CX600 in my PC, recently had to get a replacement, so I handled it quite recently, and let me tell you it is not small at all. :p
