How Vita TV Vita and PS1 games look on a TV

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I posted an article in another thread about this and its amazing how Vita games hold up on tv.  The PS1 games also looks exactly as you would expect those games to look.

Its pretty much convinced me that I will own one of these.  Being able to play Vita games without buying a Vita on my TV?  Great stuff.

I think the only minus to the thing is that ps4 games played through it are fairly poor looking, but I wouldn't be buying it for that function anyway.

WOW...  I mean this in a VERY GOOD WAY!!!

Sony, I was very critical of you... I apologize... I really do...

This allows so many possibilities. I can put one of these in my Living Room, that will fill a role as a hand held console and PS4 streamer on my tv..  And it allows my kids to play games (looking at my 9yr old daughter) without having to handle disc and scratch them up (I OCD BIG TIME OVER GAME HANDLING), buy digital copy once, and they are happy... I am happy... When Im not in the man cave gaming, I can stream PS4 games to this...

It sounds like PS4 games played through this take quite the hit visually.  It wouldn't matter tot eh kids, but its something to keep in mind when your wanting to play.

How bad of hit.. I can live with 720p, as long as the frame rates don't take a big hit...

Well its 720p of course, also it does not support surround sound output based on the specs.

As far as the hit, the impressions that I saw mentioned that it wasn't a latency issue, so the frame rate was holding up, but there were clear losses in fidelity across the overall image.  I posted this article elsewhere, but maybe this will make it clearer to you.

Basically, don't expect it to look as good as natively running on the ps4.  It may be good enough for you in a spare room where your not expecting it to look the best anyway.

It's kind of an odd bulletpoint for the Vita TV to have, though ? in how many scenarios will you be near a TV and wanting to play PS4, but unable to ... actually play your PS4 on a TV?

Ask every married gamer ever.
