$1M in suspected coke found in kidney bean cans

Two New York men have been arrested in Massachusetts after police say they stopped them for speeding and found suspected cocaine with a street value of $1 million hidden inside cans labeled as kidney beans.

Elvis Rodriguez and Swinton Acosta were ordered held on $250,000 bail each at their arraignment Tuesday on drug charges. Not guilty pleas were entered on their behalf.

Prosecutors say the men were stopped Monday in Lynn for driving 44 mph in a 30-mph zone. The 35-year-old Acosta was driving.

The cans were in a hidden compartment.

The Daily Item reports that the 55-year-old Rodriguez's lawyer says his client had no idea drugs were in the car. Acosta's attorney says his client just bought the car and didn't know about the hidden compartment.

When you're traveling with an illegal narcotic, it should be common sense to obey traffic laws, starting with NOT SPEEDING.

Sometimes I think these guys want to get caught.
