I want to map the same location using the same user name and password on different machines. Why is this so hard for Microsoft to understand??? giantsnyy Posted September 27, 2013 Share Posted September 27, 2013 This happens if you try to access the share with the username logged on to the machine before you access it with the username you require to log in (or connected to another share on the same machine) Go into Computer Management, disconnect ALL network shares. Restart your machine. Connect the share you require using Map Network Drive. Make sure you choose the Log on using alternate credentials. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

This article is for the following situation: I am at a computer and I want to connect to george\shareA using one set of credentials. At the same computer, I want to connect to geroge\shareB using another set of credentials. That is not allowed. You cannot connect to the same server (SMB) using two different set of credentials from the same machine. But as already mentioned multiple times you can access a share with multiple users no problem from different machines. But as Clirion clearly stated you can not connect to the same share with different creds from the same computer. Is that what your trying to do?
