That's an awesome pic. Looks like we might have some good competition this time. I don't have an actual macro lens unfortunately. I had a massive spider I was trying to take pics of a few days ago, but now he's gone missing.  :|

Cropping?

I could but I just don't think the pictures are clear enough. Plus I wasn't trying to get too terribly close to it, hehehe. And it was before the timeframe too. I don't think I've even pulled those pics off my camera yet. I'll have to look at them tonight. They'll probably make an interesting picture none the less.

I'll let it slide, since it's only a day :)

Thanks :D

OOH creepy [and a good pic], what sort of spider is that?

I think it's this Pholcus phalangioides bloody always at least 1 in my house somewhere, caught another last night... this time no eggs and missing a leg!

Great spider - I had a hunt around for one to shot this month, but only found a wasp, guarding a tiny nest with a couple of stashed eggs. I'd like to see spider vs wasp battle it out in the glass arena (jar) of doom. You can tell by the missing leg that spider is a veteran, but wasp is young and plucky.

I don't have a macro lens so I can't contribute

it does say "close up" which Draconian has pushed that concept to its limits!

I'm sure you could do some close up, shallow DoF or something :)

You don't necessarily need a macro lens, it doesn't have to be super close up. If you do, then cool, but I don't know that any of the shots I took with the macro lens my friend has are to my liking. Might just use my 18-55 kit lens. It takes decent close ups. I'm gonna look back through my shots now, might have to hunt a little more. It's been rainy.
