Playing Words With Friends on a Surface Pro with touch

Words With Friends is missing from the Windows Store, and although the facebook web app works great in IE10/11 with a mouse it does not work at all with touch. There is a workaround however as the Chrome Flash plugin does work with touch events with a little help from compatibility mode.

 

To set compatibility mode go to the properties of your chrome shortcut and then the compatibility tab, enable Compatibility Mode for Windows 8 and then disable High DPI settings. Press ok and now Chrome will work with touch and also Words With Friends!

 

This setting is pretty much mandatory for using Chrome with Touch at all, so there are other benefits too.
