Thanks, the other thread was about the new tablet I got. I created this to ask the differences. It is strange there is little info. The corning fit glass feels about the same as the gorilla glass but there must be some difference (or not).

Corning Fit glass has been around for at least a year, so not so new...

(That is the 2012 Nexus 7 btw).

It is probably tempered glass that doesn't have the same hardened coating that gorilla glass has, which means while scratch resistant, it isn't as scratch resistant as GG.

They haven't put info about it on their website... not my fault.

I see that they have Glass, Glass 2, Glass 3 on the website..  I don't see Fit anywhere on it.

They may not have, but that doesn't imply that it is new, so can we cut it out with the attitude?

The Nexus 7 is a budget device, so it seems to me that it is a reasonable conclusion that it is a lesser quality tempered glass, vs GG.

fit glass is one piece of glass, whereas gorilla glass isn't. since it is one piece of glass, its easier to manufacture, thus its also cheaper. gorilla glass can be too expensive to use on bigger screens, so this is where fit glass comes in. bigger screen device manufacturers usually use inferior glass types that scratch easily,so fit glass is basically the "gorilla glass" of bigger screens, although real gorilla glass is still superior to fit glass.
