I am looking for something above 27" resolution needs to be at least 250x1440 would love IPS. HDMI(speakers too) would be sweet.

Hands down the best monitor for the money: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=113&cp_id=11307&cs_id=1130703&p_id=10489&seq=1&format=2

There are sales on it that bring it under $400 if you're patient.  Keep an eye on slickdeals.net.  That monitor is basically an Apple Cinema display without the Apple logo.

Second for the QNIX. I have three myself and I couldn't be more happy with them and they're overclockable to around 120Hz. There *can* be issues with backlight bleed, but that can easily be fixed by opening the monitor up and applying some electrical tape.

I almost got one of those but the price and ratings of the Qnix one beat it hands down, also buying it through Amazon helped if I ever need a replacement, I love Monoprice but that screens ratings made me think twice, then saw a reviw of it on a decent site and started looking elsewhere

Here's the QNIX $20 cheaper:

It's an absolute STEAL if you get one but they've been going up in price because people are starting to catch onto how special and awesome they are. The brand might seem undesire but they use A- grade Samsung panels. :D I got my three for about $320 each.

The QNIX does look like a great deal.  Just wanted to point out that the first release of that Monoprice monitor didn't get very good reviews so they went back and released a new version that has better reviews.

Hello,

Im suprised noone recommends (high end) Dell monitors.

Because my Qnix monitor is the same screen as the Dell and is half the price, I didn't pay for the pixel perfect version and yet I have no dead or stuck pixels at all, why should I pay double for the Dell name or almost triple for the Apple name, it's still the same LG panel and a less fancy case/stand

actually it's a samsung PLS panel that samsung, for some reason, decided wasn't' good enough for their monitors. I agree with you on everything else

Plus there's a good chance you can overclock the QNIX anywhere from 96Hz to over 120Hz. :D

Everyone is overclocking everything these days. Do you have personal experience doing this? Is there a real advantage to it?

It looks like this Qnix is the only value monitor out there right now

Playing on my Qnix QX2710 I love the extra pixels, this is my first 1440 monitor and I like it. It's a PLA panel so good viewing angles.

My eyes are pretty sensitive and it may just be the fact that the screen is matted and not glossy but it just doesn't look right..... I will get used to it and keep this monitor since I am not shipping it to Korea... but be aware if you are looking at the same monitor.

PS the colors are just too... colorful? saturation is very high.
