Essentially, I like my privacy. While I have no intentions of any illegal or morally dubious actions, I don't like the idea that someone knows where I am going, what I am looking at, and whatever else. I've been researching Tor and VPNs and things like that, and it all seems great, but I'm not completely understanding it all. My main worry is that since I'm using a university network to connect to the Tor servers and whatever else, won't they be able to track what I'm doing? (I'm assuming there's a log someplace, even if they're not actively tracking what I'm doing.) So my question is, what would you do to set up a browsing/internet-using experience that would leave no trace, whether from people watching or the sites I visit?
My personal computer is connected to the internet through a personal router and then through the university network. I can provide more info as necessary. Thanks!
