While I tested both controllers at GamesCom and recently at another event in the Netherlands, the Xbox One controller definitely feels more refined than the PS4 controller. The impulse triggers actually add immersion to gameplay in FM5 and while the DS4 is a VAST improvement over the **** poor DS3, it's still not good enough IMHO. Most annoying about the DS4 is the LED that reflected in every screen I played on and the touchpad is just very small (as big a two thumb tips) and needs grasping the controller over for more complicated gestures with another finger than sideswiping with a thumb. The triggers are better (real triggers finally), but not as good as the Xbox One's. The soft rubber also started to feel sticky and gross after a few people had played before me, which is very clearly a bacteria bomb waiting to go off. The only thing that was striking on the Xbox One pad was the more rigid shoulder buttons, but after played KI a while it didn't bother me anymore. I am not big on arcade sticks I like dPads for fighting. Other than that they both seem like great controllers, I don't think you could go wrong with either. I really hate that. Also, I'm pretty sure you don't have a whole lot of room to be criticizing his posts, considering what I've seen you post. :laugh: --- I can totally relate to the guy in the vid's point of view though. I've personally considered the 360 controller to be one of my most favorite controllers in existence. The only other controller I particularly like in terms of feel is the GameCube's. That's why I usually tell people that, even if the controllers look awkward, looks can easily be deceiving. I remember being rather harsh with how awful I thought the GameCube controller was... until it was in my hands. The only mildly awkward button on that controller was the Z button. Anyway, as someone who will be playing the hell out of both, I'm still looking forward to the XBO's updates. Realistically, they had a decent controller already and are doing some fine tuning to make it even better. There's no way anyone could tell me that it's going to suck. The PS4 controller though seems to stand out in how vastly improved it is over the previous iterations. That is a very good sign for those who are longtime Playstation fans. It means I won't have to worry about going from something that feels amazing to something that's mediocre when I switch between platforms. Of course, some may find it arguably better, but realistically, I'm going to call this one a draw until I can get hands on with them, as they look to be neck and neck really. Also looking forward to having both available for use with the PC. There isn't a better or worse controller.Ditto that -- for me the only reason I'd prefer the 360/X1 controller is just that with my large-ish hands the MS controller just felt a lot more comfortable to hold for an extended period of time, the PS3's anyway felt a little awkward to me, total guess but the PS4 is going to be the same. That aside /shrug they both are solid controllers, never mind they both can be replaced with something else anyway if you don't care for it. The position of the thumbsticks is a stretch compared to the Xbox's one which feel perfectly comfortable. I guess I have small hands but I'd never choose a PS controller over and Xbox one. I had an XBox 360 for years and loved certain games on it, but whenever I would play any kind of platforming game that required use of the D-pad, I always felt like I had to crook my thumb at an awkward angle to use it. After moving over the PS3, I found that the D-pad was much easier to use, and the smaller distance between the left joystick and the D-pad meant that it wasn't an awkward stretch to switch between the two. I can play God of War 3 for hours using the joystick, but reach over and quickly slap a D-pad button to change attacks and it didn't feel out of place. The only complaint I have about the PS3 controller is the length of the handgrips. On the XBox 360 the handgrips were long enough that they filled my hands and gave all my fingers something to wrap around comfortably. On the PS3 controller, they're shorter and leave my pinky kind of hanging out there by itself, so I have to tuck it in, which hasn't been a huge problem for me, but it has caused my pinky to cramp a little in a couple instances where I played for hours and hours on a weekend. I hated the ps2/3 versions because of the stick layout. That said, The rumble triggers on XBO are an automatic win for XBO imo, none of DS4's new features come any close. I think the issue is that there are an equal or greater number of videos and articles out there saying the X1 controller is the best. You always seem to find the pro-PS4 ones though :) I also think its widely recognised that the 360 controller was better than the PS3's. These new ones are just refinements with a few extra features (gimmicks in the PS4's case), so I think it follows that the Xbox controller remains superior. Also its hard to take a comparison video seriously when it uses the derogotory term XBONE. Not a lot of people chose a console over the controller anyway, even if then prefer the other. at least the DS4 is a major improvement over the DS3. but they should have kept the light in front infrared so it doesn't glow annoyingly all the time. and still visible to the camera and can be used for everything it does now. Yes that light on the controller was so annoying when i tried it as it often reflected in the TV, so in a dark room it could be a pain in the ass.
