What is it with the misuse of the Marked Solved button. The post you marked was in no way answering the topic, and that member isn't even qualified to answer. If this happens again warns will be handed out.

Since he is a subscriber and gets early access to the new site designs, then I'd say that was the best answer as it showed that themes were not returning. :/

I'll quote what I said again:

He doesn't speak for our plans on redesigns and in fact has been asked not to discuss it outside of that area anyway.

I didn't say he was qualified, however throughout the two pages of this thread it's hinted at that themes are not making a return. :/ Plus I had my reasons for marking it as solved.

I wasn't actually expecting a best answer point, It was mostly some harmless fun with a friend

Just in case anyone thinks otherwise, It's not for me to decide who gives out the best answer mark.

It's all good bud, I just feel a little victimised lately, I've got some randon jerk pmming me thinking he's some sort of vigilante moderator, who has his account set up so there's no way to respond to him, something that to me is blatantly done to annoy and anger his 'victims'. Then find a post about next time there will be warnings given out. If this is the face of the newer, friendlier forum, then something clearly has gone wrong because it's gone completely in the opposite direction.

Maybe I am reading too much into it, but I feel something needs to be said.

As staff we cannot help you if you don't let us know about an issue, even if it's a problem with another member of staff.

I think we can all agree that the "best answer" option still needs looking at. I can see LimeMaster's point of view, but equally I agree with Steve that I don't think the response chosen should have been given the "best answer" title.

I understand what you're saying, and also agree that it could use 'looking' into. But there is a difference between an answered question and one that was answered best. I know it's Steven's site and he can run it however he sees fit, but following consistency is all I ask. I have not had a problem with Steven giving himself best answer, but a lot of his answers weren't exactly 'best'.

The problem is.. half the forums don't need a marked solved button... so they are given out as free "Tech issues solved" points.   At least that's what I do.

Where's the dislike button? (N) :p I think I'd made things worst when I touched the button. :s At first I thought is was the OP's decision, but I guess at the end of the day, staff get the final decision and that's understandable as they run the site.

Wait til you try to answer someone using a touchscreen. I hit mark as best answer instead of quote by accident :p
