Win 7 Extended desktop to other LCD - No Icons

I have a computer that the desktop is extended to another monitor. All works well but on the monitor that the screen is extended to I would like just the wallpaper and not the desktop items.

Is there a way to avoid this? Unfortunately this person stores so many things on the desktop that this probably is not avoidable.

If you want the icons on 1 monitor, then move the icons from monitor #2 to monitor #1.

 

Or you want to hide all icons,  select hide icons from the view menu when you right click on the desktop
