Hi-res panorama: Space shuttle Endeavour's flight deck

Explore inside space shuttle Endeavour's flight deck at the California Science Center. Zoom in to see the details on the controls.

In space shuttle Endeavour's flight deck, where the commander and pilot would sit, there are more than 2,000 switches, dials and buttons cover the walls and ceiling. Spare surfaces are covered with Velcro, where astronauts would stick anything — pens, cameras, food bags, laptops — to keep them from floating away. View the panorama above at this link in fullscreen and zoom in to see the details.

Sorry but couldn't resist.

If you look at the top back between the bay windows, you'll see glass with a cross on it, that's where the flux capacitor was :shiftyninja:

The ship is on remote control, the buttons do nothing. It's so the commander can feel important. ;)
