Naked 'Sasquatch' attacks deer hunter

MANNING, OR (KOIN) - A naked 20-year-old man who claimed he was Sasquatch attacked a deer hunter Thursday, using a rock to hit him over the head and used his clothes to try and strangle the man, authorities said.

But the 58-year-old hunter took control of his attacker and kept him on the ground with his hunting knife. The hunter called police and used his whistle to lead police to his exact location.

Linus Norgren was arrested and booked at the Washington County Jail on multiple charges, including second-degree assault, strangulation and menacing.

The hunter was taken to Portland's Legacy Emanuel Hospital and treated for dislocated shoulders and a broken finger. His daughter did not want to go on camera, but told KOIN 6 News her father is in a lot of pain. He's expected to be released on Friday.

She also said Norgren's family is well-known in the area and that his father owns a mushroom shop  :shifty:  off Sunset Highway.

The attack was the talk of this small town.

"It's just bizarre," said Banks resident Whitney Bogroff. "Not too surprised unfortunately because a lot of weird stuff happens out here, but surprised because it's our hometown."

"It's pretty wild, definitely pretty wild," Seaside resident Darren Wright said. "I wouldn't expect this."

Norgren was treated for minor injuries and is expected to make his first court appearance on Friday.
