how to setup window 7 vpn?

Recommended Posts

You want to use your computer at work to connect home...easiest would be hamachi.  otherwise it would require some hardware or a router that supports vpn tunnels.

"window 7(home)"

Home version of windows 7 does not support inbound VPN, you would have to use something else to get into your network. Be it your router supports vpn connection, or as suggest some 3rd party software like logmein or teamviewer both of which have vpn support.

Or you could run a virtual machine with vpn software on it like openvpn appliance, say http://openvpn.net/index.php/access-server/download-openvpn-as-vm.html

If your router will run dd-wrt for example you could install that on your router and it has vpn support both with pptp and openvpn.

a third for Himatchi, it will work regardless of version of windows. however, some business networks will block it as they see the traffic pattern.

...so i can use my work wifi to play games or use it for stuff like teamspeak? and more?

I connect to my home computers from the office (or anywhere for that matter, thanks to my phone) using Teamviewer. But I use it for simple things, finding a document, setting up an application, checking in on the status of something running. Something like gaming or teamspeak would possibly raise flags, and then I'd be in a world of trouble.

So to answer your question, I would go with Teamviewer for it's cross-compatibility. But my suggestion is that you don't use it for the reasons you want to use it.

Moved to Internet, Network & Security!

Do you really want to use your work time to play games instead?
