Best 7" tab?

Recommended Posts

Thanks guys!

NP.  The N17 2013 is a great tablet.  Best resolution you will get currently on that size tab.  Easy as hell to root as well and I applied the Clean ROM to it.  Clean ROM is as close to stock as possible and it is smooth.

I'm well aware of the love for the Nexus tablets, but I've had a Samsung Galaxy Tab II for about 8 months and I'm very pleased with it, something else you might look in to.

i have a 7" galaxy tab II and a first gen Nexus 7; and the quality difference between the two would actually surprise you. the nexus 7 (both first & second gen) are a lot higher quality over the galaxy tab II (especially with the screen)

I also suggest the 2013 N7.

The only objection I have to the Nexus tabs is the lack of a memory card slot. Since it's made by Asus and others of that brand have them....

USB OTG? Granted it wouldn't travel as well as a tucked away SD card, but if you buy a 32 or 64 GB version you surely have at least close to enough storage I'd think and you can plug in the USB OTG+USB drive for extra stuff you may need.

Just depends on what you need it for an what space you need. I'm replacing my head unit in my car with a N7 so I got the 8GB version and am just gonna plug in a 64 GB USB drive, but that will be mounted and never moving so that works great for my situation.

I found a good deal on a Nexus 7 2013 this weekend, so I pulled the trigger on it and should have it in a few days.

I'm not fond of Android, but the 1st gen seemed rock solid, so we'll see how it goes.  Maybe it will even replace my iPad.  :D

Nexus and Galaxy the two giants in tablet market. Both are as good as one can imagine. Difficult to choose between them but I would suggest galaxy. It is just because I too use galaxy tab and I love it for its features.

i have a couple 1st gen nexus 7's and just recently (yesterday) picked up an iPad mini, each has their own strengths and weaknesses, I like both but as of now if i had to choose, i would choose the iPad mini for the benifit of having IOS but I can easily tell the nexus is a better tablet. The screen on the iPad mini is a touch blurry but is awesome on the new iPad mini with retnia. I hope to go see the new 2nd gen of the nexus soon as I have not seen it yet.

i too am still favoring IOS over andriod but having both the 1st gen nexus 7 AND the ipad mini, I can see the nexus is a better tablet... but too bad it didn't have IOS... (having said that, i do not use the nexus much the last couple days)

After playing around with the Nexus 7 for a few days, I absolutely agree with you.  It's a super nice tablet, but iOS is still much more polished.  I'm actually pretty surprised at the quality difference of apps between the two OS's.  Some icons and UIs on an Android app are rather rough around the edges compared to the iOS version of the same app.  A lot of apps are really laggy too, so Android might just be a bigger dump to develop for.  But overall, there's no better value on the planet than the Nexus 7.
