Still, I recommend all Mac owners (especially MacBook owners who want better battery life) to install the "Click for Flash" addon. That way random flash adverts are blocked from running by default. I don't believe it was Flash, I actually checked out my AdBlock Extension, enabled and disabled. I'm wondering if that was the cause. It's just..the fact that 10GB of RAM were being eaten up. Bi4me Posted October 17, 2013 Share Posted October 17, 2013 Try disabling, even removing, the AdBlock extension and then restart Safari. It is known to cause problems. Delete "/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/Safari AdBlocker.bundle" just to be sure. Write back if the problem persists. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

For some reason, Safari has been a CPU eater in OS X since Snow Leopard, and definitely since Lion - it's why I have had Firefox as my default browser in OS X since. (For iPads - in fact, all iDevices, the preferred default - at least among those i support, seems to be Chrome, oddly enough, with Firefox second.) The trackpad gestures are very nice with Safari (pinch to zoom, tab switching, back/forward page flipping). The bookmark/history/iCloud tab syncing with Safari is something I use all the times between my MBP, iPad, and iPhone. I wish they would have not discontinued Safari for Windows, because I liked it there too. You obviously have never used IE for Mac or you would have not made that statement.
