Sir Topham Hatt
I have something listed on eBay. Somehow, someone has been able to get my mobile number from eBay and call me about it. Can anyone tell me how, and how I can stop it from happening again? Thanks
Som
ya very annoying, had a similar problem a few weeks back. Your number shouldn't be listed though, as far as I know they can only request your number after they've purchased something from you. Is it possible you've got your number on the first line of your address? oh my way around it was to get another SIM card and use that for my ebay shop ( a business number if you like) I have something listed on eBay. Somehow, someone has been able to get my mobile number from eBay and call me about it. Can anyone tell me how, and how I can stop it from happening again? Sir Topham Hatt
Yeah, looked at the item but I can't see my number displayed anywhere. It's in my address at all. Even more strange, I can't seem to see the way to change it!
Marshall Veteran Posted October 18, 2013 Veteran Share Posted October 18, 2013 Yeah, looked at the item but I can't see my number displayed anywhere. It's in my address at all. Even more strange, I can't seem to see the way to change it! Your phone numbers can be changed via "Addresses" My Ebay>Account tab>Addresses Edit: You can leave the Phone number field blank if you like. Sir Topham Hatt
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Apple-iPhone-5-16-GB-Black-Slate-locked-Smartphone-/181239458820 is the listing... It seems you can request anyone's number: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/ebayadvsearch/?_sofindtype=9 but only if you're currently bidding on one of their items. That sucks. The guy who called offered cash but I said I wanted more than he wanted to pay so a waste of a phone call. Looks like I will have to change the registered number to my landline, which doesn't have a phone attached but I will see what ebay has to say first as I wasn't aware they would share all my contact info to anyone.
