gameboy1977
The next-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft are almost here, bringing with them fresh graphics, cool features, and brand new price tags. But are the $500 Xbox One and the $400 PS4 really all that pricey, historically speaking? Here?s a look at the ten most expensive launch systems of all time, adjusted for inflation (and in current U.S. dollars). Read more
Bi4me
It's mind-blowing how fast the IT appliances devaluate. I thought I've thrown a lot of money on a PC build while I've actually given more money for a console back in the 90s...

Shadrack
Looks about right. Which console had those crappy Zelda games that Nintendo wants to pretend never happened? Was it the 3DO or the CDi? One of those systems that nobody had. For some reason I recall the Atari 2600 was the budget console for people who couldn't afford a Commodore 64. It had Mario Hotel and a Link game.
Stoffel
And now for the real price of the PS4 when it is released in Brazil this/next year ............. $2000 (this is according to my gf who is from Brazil) Beats everything in this list :)
jerzdawg
I remember when my friend got the 3DO... and he got a jaguar(which btw.. should be on this list.. I think it was at least $500). Both systems had such horrible games. I can only remember this really terrible fighting game on the 3do, which was like a bootleg mortal kombat. Atomic Wanderer Chicken
The Panasonic 3do had superior graphics when it was released. It were close to ps1 graphics, but it was too expensive for a lot of people Btw, the Panasonic 3do and the Phillip cdi both look like vcrs
Max Norris
Ahh the IntelliVision, had one of those, cost was even higher if you bought the voice unit for it. Fun games, terrible controllers, probably second only to the Fairchild.

gameboy1977
I played IntelliVision before. it was so awful controllers. I never forget that one.
Eric Veteran Posted October 18, 2013 Veteran Share Posted October 18, 2013 The Intellivision controllers were terrible. The discs weren't anchored and people ended up spinning them instead of just pressing the edges, which caused the plastic to wear a hole in the circuit membrane underneath them. I hated the ColecoVision controllers, too.
+Frank B. Subscriber² Posted October 18, 2013 Subscriber² Share Posted October 18, 2013 Can I blame my horrible Frogger-on-Intellivision skills on the controller then? Excellent. The Evil Overlord and Eric 2 Share

DoctorD
I remember dropping $500 on a Goldstar 3D0 back in the mid 90's and what a great machine it was.
