Anyone know any good HDD scanners for Windows (preferably free).  I use SeaTools but it's not compatible with windows 8.1.   It works (slowly) but I'm looking for an alternative. Thanks :)

Well technically any good HDD diag tool won't run in Windows, it needs to run in it's own environment to eliminate the OS as an issue.

Spinrite is good.
