compl3x
This is a pretty good comparison video, barring some audio fluctuations. We already know about most of the changes in the new Vita: ?it's lighter and thinner than the PCH 1000 ?an extra hour of battery life, probably oweing to the change in screen type ?it now has an LCD instead of an OLED screen ?it comes with 1GB inbuilt storage ?it has a micro USB charging port. A few things I didn't know: ?the accessory port is gone, there is only a game slot at the top which I assume means Sony won't be releasing any peripherals to take advantage of that accessory port. ?The 1GB inbuilt storage apparently disappears when you install a Vita memory card. That is to say you can no longer access the onboard memory if you have a card installed. ?The battery is user-replaceable
trooper11
Interesting stuff. I think its a decent update to be honest. I mean most of the changes are for the better, but then they change the screen to lcd, which is more about cost cutting than improving the experience. I doubt I'll ever have the need to buy one though. My only reason to consider one was to play the games I couldn't play on anything else, but the Vita TV solves that. I can spend less and have easy connections to a TV. I wasn't interested in the portable aspect of it anyway.
Showan
Very interesting how Sony shaved down the Vita to save $$$... But also for the better... I'm just curious about how games look on the OLED in the Vita 1000 vs the LCD in the Vita 2000, Do games take a drastic hit in terms of how they look and pop? or is it subtle and not a deal breaker? Vita is my on "On the fence" items to get... The new price point does intrigue me though... But I would buy instantly if it were bundled with a PS4 at a good price point... Like $549.99 - $574.99... But this just may be in my hands permanently before the PS4 is...
Atomic Wanderer Chicken
As cool as the PS Vita is, I am not that interested in it the same way I was in the PSP back then.
ShadowMajestic
those weird gaps on the bottom sides are for straps :/ other then that, to bad the 1000 doesn't have a mini-usb.
