What was your first home computer?

My first "home" computer was a TRS-80 Color Computer from Radio Shack. I wish I still had it. I wrote some interesting programs with that 32K machine. I think I purchased it in 1980 shortly after it was available.

I think our first family "PC" was an Apricot PC, after that we got a Windows 95 powered beast with an astonishing 16mb of RAM - it could play Half Life and Championship Manager, so I was happy enough.

My first personal one was an E-Machine if I recall correctly with the dreaded Windows ME installed on it. I'd gotten it for Christmas, I'd asked for one as a joke... come Christmas morning I was told to go outside and there it was all boxed up.  Came with Rayman 3D, Rollercoaster Tycoon and that Mickey Mouse Disney art type software.  Within 24 hours the PSU blew because it had to be hard reset so many times due to a 'kernell32.dll' error that came up after an unspecified period of time, and if you kept closing it / clicking okay it eventually killed explorer.exe and crashed the system.  I used to just hide it under my task bar and continue playing Starfleet Command on MPlayer - ahh the days of being young and more so inexperienced!

AMD Athlon XP 400Mhz (or something lik that)

64MB RAM

Nvidia 8MB graphics card

3.1 GB HDD

65K modem

I remember

being jealous of my brothers 4.2GB HDD

downloading songs off Napster at 4KB/sec and absolutely buzzing at the speed

getting Black & White game and it running like ###### and me being devastated

only being allowed online after 6pm when it was free with BT, but deciding i couldn't wait, using it anyway, running up a large bill and my parents going crazy.

First PC I had was a sega SC something, then a crap 486, which spent more time in the shop than with me lol. Then an Amiga 500 till the battery leaked in it, and killed it completely.

Then a P4 socket 478 system, I built myself. Then the 2 I have now (put together by myself as well). 1 2.5 Ghz socket 775 4 GB, and this one 2.8 Ghz socket 775 system 8 GB.

My first 'computer' was an Amstrad CPC.

My first computer than ran Windows however.. I don't remember what brand it was, but it had a Pentium MMX in it.

The first computer I bought myself with my own money was one I'd built myself. It had a Socket A AMD Duron in it, 1GB RAM and A 256MB Radeon X1600 Pro in it. It was okay.

My parents, and thus arguably my first computer was a Macintosh Plus. MY first computer would have been some random 286 from a yard sale. I used to get my parents to buy me old computers at yard sales to play around with. The first computer I built was a 233 MHz Pentium based system with I believe a 3dfx Voodoo 2 graphics card.

Those were the days!

IBM Personal System (model 57, or later)

Not sure on system specs, but had at least a 386 processor.

I do remember it running Windows 3.1 (later Windows 3.11), but could have came with DOS.

SkiFree. This is the one application I can vividly remember as a child.
