adrynalyne
Firefox needs more Metro like themes. Not ugly rounded corners. Square.PNG That is hideous.
Syanide
neoplanet... And the similarities would be what exactly? Australis is clean and simple, just because the tabs are curved doesn't make much difference to me.
Som
never been a fan of firefox, always been an opera person ... happy to keep using opera 12 too ... until they fix the shite they've come up with recently

It looks like a modern browser with curved tabs. That's it.

HawkMan
Am I seeing something different when I see Australis pics compared to other people? It looks like a modern browser with curved tabs. That's it. any browser can look like a modern browser, neoplanet had a customizeable interface and you could strip it down like this. For me curved tabs is annoying because it reduces the amount of tabs I can have up, especially with firefox stupid scrolling tabs. Already dislike how the new Opera loses the favicons when you get to many tabs, while on the old opera I could have as many tabs as I wanted and not lose the favicon. What Neoplanet could have looked like wasn't really the point, as it looks nothing like Australis. And since it's customizable as you say, then it could be stripped down to look like Chrome and IE as well, right? So your comparison makes no sense. As for the way Firefox handles tabs, that just goes on to show how different people like different things. Personally, Firefox scrolling tabs > the way Chrome handles it, for instance. Either way, people have been saying the same things about Firefox ever since version 4 came out, so it has died 20 times since then, oh and guess what -- lots of people still like it and use it. Personally, Firefox scrolling tabs > the way Chrome handles it, for instance. It's also ridiculously flexible in how it's done too, say Tab Mix Plus for example. Scrolling, multiple rows, groups, whatever, it's got your preferences covered.

ViperAFK
Question for Firefox users who have been following Australis development: Why does 'Add-ons' have a faded tab in this screenshot? ViperAFK
Opera. Definitely switch to Opera. I actually really love the look of the new opera, IMO its the best looking desktop browser in windows 8, fits in really well. Too bad its still missing so many important features :(

Max Norris
Personally not surprised, there's an addon in the works that, among other things, re-enables the addon bar in Australis. All of my other minor complaints are already tweakable to my liking. Says it'll be released once Australis is officially part of Nightly. Can get rid of the curved tabs too if that's your thing. This is why I stay with Firefox. http://aris-at-mozilla.blogspot.ca/ revanmj 1 Share
The_Decryptor Veteran Posted October 27, 2013 Veteran Share Posted October 27, 2013 I won't miss the addon bar, there's nothing in it that I interact with constantly, but you can't currently easily hide it so I just leave it enabled, Australis lets me hide them away but still access them easily. Opera. Definitely switch to Opera.Me and all the other Opera users could carpool then!
