A man stole an 80,000 USD Audi RS5 after a test drive at a Houston dealership.

An Audi dealership in Houston was the victim of a grand theft auto after a man drove off with an RS5 right after taking the high-performance coupe for a test drive. It happened in the middle of the day when two men came at the dealership in a white Range Rover which lacked license plates, indicating the SUV was stolen as well.

After returning from the test drive they started to talk about sealing the deal and at one point the dealer turned away from the desk, giving one of the felons the chance to grab the keys and steal the RS5 Coupe in the blink of an eye.

Audi West Houston has set up a 5,000 USD reward for those who can bring the car back or provide a tip which will lead to the apprehension of the criminals.

I wouldn't be surprised if that Land Rover they showed up in which had no plates, was also stolen in a similar manner. It probably wouldn't be hard to throw on a plate from another car and get away with it for a little bit, just don't do anything to get stopped by the police

There's no need to as I'm sure all dealership's stock is insured.

 

As for the car, it's probably been cut into pieces by now and each part sold separately. Or, it's been shipped overseas.

They should upgrade their security camera's, the definition and frame rate looked terrible!

 

Speaking of which, part 1 of my Security camera(s) upgrade is arriving today! Low def Wilife cam(s) are getting upgraded to HD 3 mega pixel POE IR dome cameras!

Since when does a car dealership not require test drivers to provide identification, or some form of official paperwork proving who they are? Especially a luxury dealership such as that one. Also, no lo-jack on an $80,000 sports car? Seriously? And to top if off, they're offering only a $5000 reward for their multiple levels of incompetence.  :no:

He did provide identification, he took it, and the copies made, along with the car keys it when the employee left the desk
