Microsoft has always been a devices and services company

Recommended Posts

This whole thing about the new devices and services thing Microsoft is doing isn't new. Microsoft has been making devices for a very long time. Microsoft has been also obviously making software along with the devices (which it does exceptionally well). Microsoft has made keyboards, mice, webcams, headsets, joysticks,  microphones, Xbox, the Microsoft Zune and even children items. This whole 'cool and hip' appearance of Microsoft is a big power of deception to make you believe it's a revamped and refreshed Microsoft.  Microsoft is still the same company that it always been, making software, operating systems and putting out devices but with some stylish new marketing and some rebranding.

Good Photoshop work OP.

I hope you are joking.

To my knowledge, all of the products in Lone Wanderer Chicken's post are real. The Windows 98 CD-ROM even includes videos pertaining to various Microsoft products, including those phones that were posted.

They were a CD-ROM company too remember Microsoft Home and Microsoft Kids? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Home

They also were a program company: Microsoft Paint, Microsoft Photo Gallery, Windows Live Writer...

So? Microsoft is a lot of things, it boils down to them being a Well-Rounded Technology Company. (Just FYI the OP images showed them being a HARDWARE company not a DEVICES company, remember Pixel Sense? The original "Surface")
