Personally have never used the media functionality outside of copying a movie to a usb stick and playing it from XMB but it is confusing as to why they went backwards feature wise. Although I wonder if its too late to make it before launch. With Sony and MS scrambling to just get their OS finished, its probably too late to add more features.
