This is a very specific question to which I doubt there is an answer, but are there any multiplayer Android games that will let you play against someone on a PC?
My nephew is coming over, and every year I promise him I will have saved enough/scrounged enough to build a second PC for him so we can play LAN games when he comes over. And once again, I do not have a second PC for said LAN games. The 2nd-hand computer I got died on the trip to my house (screen only works 10% of the time due to a faulty GPU), and I can't afford to buy a new GPU right now.
Because I have built a DIY gamepad for my Galaxy S3 android, (and it feels like playing a real xbox-360-quality console with a tiny screen), I was really hoping that SG: Deadzone would be one of those games. SG Deadzone is a free, multiplayer first person Halo-like shooter that has versions for PC, Mac, Facebook, Android, and iOS, and I was really really hoping that I would be able to play against my nephew, where I'd be on my Android w/gamepad, and he'd be on my PC. But unfortunately, only iOS players can play against Android, and only Mac/Facebook players can compete against PC.
Does anyone know of a solution to my lan-gaming woes? There are a handful of split-screen games for PC, like GRID 2, but they are almost always racing games, and my nephew is more in to shooters. It would have been nice if Treyarch/Activision had ported the split screen portion of CoD to PC, but they didn't. And besides, split-screening takes away half the fun of a 1-on-1 game - the sneaking. It's just too tempting/easy to glance at the other person's screen, which is why I wanted to build a second PC for lan gaming.
