I'm thinking about selling one of my rifles.  I bought a bolt action 30-06 for deer hunting, but I've been using my AR-15 because the screws that hold the rail down don't have any lock-tite and I've had them back out once or twice from recoil or bumping a tree, and I've had to re-zero the scope after tightening them down.  I just didn't want to bump a tree (Brush on our hills is really thick) on the way to my hunting spot and have to waste a hunting day just going back to the house, tightening down the rail and re-zeroing the scope.  I'd say you could tighten them up permanently with some lock-tite or something, but I just use my AR-15 with standard iron sights since we don't take shots longer than 150-200 yards around here because of the terrain (Lots of steep hills and valleys).  The AR is lighter, the sights don't get knocked around like a scope does, and having tried it out, has plenty of stopping power for deer.  Last time I shot a deer with my AR-15 I used 62 grain 5.56mm NATO green tip penetrator rounds, and it made very clean entry and exit wounds without damaging the meat, and the deer was dead about 5 seconds after the shot; it ran about 50 yards and fell into a big brier patch that I had to go drag it out of.  This showed me that my AR is perfectly fine for taking deer, which are the biggest game animal around here (Elk and bear are moving in though, they're pretty heavy just 20 miles down the road), and that I don't really need my 30-06.  I'd like to keep it just because it's an old school bolt action with a wooden stock, it fires a big cartridge, and it's a tack driver when I'm not banging it into brush climbing up and down these hills.  I'm just curious about how much I could get out of it, and figured some of the gun people here might be able to give me a guesstimate as to worth.  I bought the scope brand new at a Cabela's in Lacey, WA just for putting on the rifle because it had a Tasco scope on it that was a piece of junk.

Number of rounds fired: Unknown, I bought it used, but I put a bore-light in the chamber and didn't see any pits or scratches in the rifling, and has shot fine for me.  I have personally put between 100-200 rounds through it just target shooting.

I originally paid $400 for the rifle with the Tasco scope on it, so not counting the carrying case and ammo, I have $600 in the rifle and the scope.
