Yes it does sound limiting,Im more inclined to suggest a REP button [similar to Face books LIKE] on posts so that members can give positive feedback on how helpful other posters are which over time would incrementally increase a members status.

^this. What about the rest of the people contributing on a thread? In a thread like this, currently 27 pages long and going, with 15 posts per page, only one person gets Best Answer. The 400 or so other people that posted were trolling all this time right? With such odds, what makes you think next time they'd even bother helping someone out?

erm, this isn't a support thread with a Mark Solved option. and for those tech areas "Best Answer" is exactly what it means, the OP votes for the best answer.

Also people are ignoring that we've taken the feedback and will be implementing some updates that will probably appease everyone.

Hello,

That sounds great and I think it important :)

People didnt like Neowin 8.0, so they will problably like Neowin 8.1 (of course, there will be those that complain about that too, you know)

Hello,

I think something broke:

http://www.neowin.ne...r-a-cisco-1803/

Obviously a tech question in a tech section with no solved answer and I dont see the Mark Solved button anymore...

Did you see them before? You are not allowed to mark a post as solved if you're not the OP or staff

Two things that remain to be done now:

  1. fix this thread's title to "Tech issues solved added in tech forums"
  2. give MVCs a modest 100 tech issues solved points jump start  j/k

In all seriousness.. A great way to clean the site up and make it look more professional, would be to hide a lot of the non-tech areas from the Spy.. Or have two spy's.. One for tech stuff that is by default and another one that shows all.. Neowin has gave the tools to follow forums and threads.. We can use those methods to keep up..

I say this because if a lurker came or someone came here for answers, they might get the wrong idea with some of the threads around here.. People are very easily offended these days.. Just a thought

if you arent signed in (did a google search looking for an answer), only the support forms show up in spy and on the front page.
