Can you overclock Imac Monitor HZ Refresh rate? Can't find answer anywhere!

Hey guys, i have a really niche/random question here but can't find an answer on google anywhere. its quite a specific question

 

With regards to refresh rates, i have my dell monitor with very low input lag clocked at 72hz through nvidia drivers in windows 7 and I feel a visible difference in games and with cursor smoothness

 

Just wondering if this is possible with iMacs (specifically the 2013 version) I know there will be warriors out there saying you cant tell above 60hz but i prefer the running rate - would i have to run windows 7 on the imac and would it have to have a geforce graphics card onboard, or does anyone know if they currently have an iMac 2013 if this can be done with intel onboard graphics in windows 7?? Also would you get a 'out of range' error message and then be able to revert back to original setting after 20/30 seconds if running it in windows 7?

 

also as an extra question, does anyone know what the mouse input lag is measured at on the imacs monitors?

 

Really would love for someone out there who might know with an iMac 2013 to let me know, as i can't find answers anywhere. Would be much appreciated!

I can't see how changing the refresh rate on an LCD screen would make a difference to be honest.

 

As for the mouse input lag, it's true OS X suffers from input lag, but there's an app you can try called SmoothMouse. It's designed to reduce the problem. Some software also has built in options to reduce the input lag as well. I know Blizzard games do.

I can see a difference also. When I reinstall windows the monitor is set to 60hz, when I set it back to 75hz I can see the difference very clearly. Its like it becomes more crisp.

While we're at it, can I overclock the dpi of my mouse? Or say, the screen resolution of my smartphone?

its a serious question though, the operating system (be it mac os or windows 7/8) dosent and shouldnt effect input lag, and you can tell the refresh rate HZ difference thats why they manufacture 120hz gaming monitors, im just curious if anyone knows a decent answer. as i say i managed to get 72hz out of my dell monitor and want to see if anyone who has windows on an imac could let me know how high the refresh rate goes on an imac 2013.
