Slatan Posted November 11, 2013 Share Posted November 11, 2013 I've had some time to think about this, and I *might* know why IE11 isn't filtered in Ad Muncher. Of course, I don't have Ad Muncher so I can't test this. In Internet Explorer 11 go to Internet options > Advanced tab. Scroll down to the Security section and uncheck Enabled Protected Mode, then restart IE11 and see if filtering is working then. Nope. Didn't work - I just tested it. Good idea, though. I'm NOT bashing due to it being a "MS" product but, I've seen alot of threads about people wondering just wth is going on with IE11. I know, without a doubt, someone with good IT knowledge here at NEOWIN could give us a straight answer on this. Just be honest... I'd like to know. Internet Explorer is out there and a HUGE population of the internet community uses it, and uses it very well. Internet Explorer is out there and a HUGE population of the internet community uses it, and uses it very well. One of the programmers explained it to me and has stated it will require some special work around for the new security features built into IE11. Apparently Jeff, and Murray needs to hire someone that can get the job done, becuse they certinally don't have the ambition to get it done. If it's so hard then why has AdGuard already got their 'AdMuncher' working with IE11. Too bad these two couldn't get together, would be a great mnarriage. Version 1.0 of adblocker plus for ie works extremely well if you can locate a link for it. Just don't use their latest 1.1 version, it makes ie hang and crash. Supporting Enhanced Protected Mode + Metro IE11 will more than likely require a new driver. Adguard's been supporting IE11 since July and it actually has two drivers - the default WFP driver supports Enhanced Protected Mode and Metro IE but the TDI fallback driver doesn't support Enhanced Protected Mode or Metro IE, but it still works with IE11 if you're not using either feature. I emailed them when IE11 went gold and said not working. I asked when is it going to work, seeing as you've had a year to sort it out. Answer I got was 'when it's done'. I check the forums and nothing is really said. I want to use IE11, but some websites (eBay as an example) are so stuffed full of ads and pop-ups it's a complete nightmare to navigate, without a constant lag. TPreston Posted February 18, 2014 Share Posted February 18, 2014 I thoroughly recommend doing your filtering at the network layer between the clients and wan port. Lots of devices can do http and https filtering (!= https inspection) like cisco routers the advantage of this is you don't need to install any software and it supports everything from windows to windows phone to smart tv and bluray players. with the added bonus of centralising the block list in one location not scattered across devices so you can update it. Perhaps these are the things I have been missing out on doing with my latest installation. Is this filteration possible with <snip /> too? If so, I'll appreciate if you could please help me out.
