asy1mpo
Hi I read that windows XP had a boot up faster and comparable to winME ( from suspend, cold boot, etc..) I have not found this. Is it just me??? My Dads PC with ME boots up very quick to windows (very quick to see desktop but becuase he has so much in startup and desktop it a little longer to actually start up an app) My brother has ME too and his boots up very quick - (25 seconds). Mine (winXP) is not as quick. Its around 50 - ish - it takes longer now with a second hard disk (not sure why) but still overall is longer. I think i will time it properly when I get home
neowin_hipster
Are your PnP devices configured properly??? Download this to check the boot time. Also download bootvis.exe http://www.microsoft.com/hwdev/archive/new...ot.asp#EnumTool

Nidonocu
I have found XP to boot much faster than all other O/S's. Do make sure you check your hardware settings and make sure XP is not checking for stuff and starting services that arn't there or you don't need.
