euroTRIP app!

Hi folks!

I and amnesia have made a new app called euroTRIP.

Here's the description:

euroTRIP app is a must have app when traveling around Europe. The app was designed with high roaming prices in mind. All the data is stored within the app, internet connection is not required. You will find a lot of information in the app, basic country info, emergency numbers, specific traffic laws and so on. If you're in a country and don't know what to check, you have a few top sights from every country, too.

Main app features:

- 52 European countries
- traffic laws, speed limits, compulsory car equipment and documents, safety laws, etc.
- emergency numbers (police, ambulance, fire brigade, towing services)
- 5 most popular sights for every country
- driving tips

There were quite a few updates in the meantime with an added jumplist too.

A new big update will probably come next week. There will be quite a few new features added:

- click on a sight to open location in bing maps
- on the country page added "facts" and "phrases"

Serious. I travel abroad rarely, but when I do, I make it a point to have some handy reference on that country's customs and stuff rather than wandering in a devil may care fashion. If I was driving myself, even more so. Emergency numbers, too. 112 is not universal, is it?

Most modern mobile phone operators will redirect 112 to whatever the local emergency number is.

Not necessarily the case for landlines.

Here's Australia, for example:

Dialling 112 directs you to the same Triple Zero (000) call service and does not give your call priority over Triple Zero (000).

112 is an international standard emergency number which can only be dialled on a digital mobile phone. It is accepted as a secondary international emergency number in some parts of the world, including Australia, and can be dialled in areas of GSM network coverage with the call automatically translated to that country

Not for now, but we're thinking of it. Maybe in the future.

Good news, the update has been published in the store (app version 2.5), try it, and as always, if there are any bugs report them to me.

Such travel so wow!

Wow nice idea. Can't believe I missed this. Would have been useful when I was in Europe a couple months ago.

I watched the movie a few years ago, but this app has nothing to do with it :D
