"Blizzard's next big game!" - a game evolved from a SC/WC3 map, Blizzard All-Stars!

Heroes of the Storm is an upcoming multiplayer online battle arena video game developed by Blizzard Entertainment. The basis of the game is the combination of heroes from Blizzard's Warcraft, Diablo, and StarCraft franchises.

Amazing alpha game footage has been seen at Blizzcon 2013!

Stay tuned for more information!

If you liked hero vs hero battles and harasses in WC3, you gonna love this!!!

It's a PVP RPG in WOW-type of battlegrounds!

I don't think so.  It sounds like the rumored "Blizzard DOTA" is finally developed into this to me.  Interesting that they are not going to use the DOTA name considering how much a bitch fit the threw about it when Valve called their game DOTA2.  Probably because they loss that argument.

Valve owns the rights to the name "Dota" as part of a settlement with Blizzard.

Ahh...  Conflicts get all the headlines, while resolutions rarely get any attention.

Absolutely not. Titan is a whole new IP where as Heroes of the Storm is a creation from existing IPs.

sounds amazing with the different game styles, still think they should have left the name as Blizzard Dota.

Originally, it was supposed to be a special map for StarCraft 2. I guess they decided to go the standalone route. It looks interesting. I've added some videos to the post.

I'm extremely happy they've chosen the standalone version!

Hopefully, this way there will be engine improvements in the game and the graphics will be better :)

I've added some videos to the post.

Thank you! I had already gone to bed when those were posted on youtube. They are exactly the ones that we were shown at blizzcon earlier :)

Dota

It's amazing that two different RPG  sub-genres have emerged from SC/WC3 custom map editor - tower defence and DOTA.

I think HoS will enhance the gameplay dynamics on many levels. It won't be just DOTA :)

At Blizzcon, they were talking about how the battlegrounds from WOW, their interactive aspect influenced those in HoS.

Each hero offers different strengths and weaknesses depending on their role.

ASSASSIN
Assassins like Kerrigan deal tremendous damage and can pick off unsuspecting enemies, but must choose their battles carefully, as they can dish more than they can take.

WARRIOR
Warriors such as Diablo can dive right into a melee, soaking up damage and dealing it back.

SUPPORT
Support heroes like Malfurion can swing the tide of battle, assisting with healing, buffs, or other abilities to manipulate the battle in the favor of allies.

SPECIALIST
Other types include the siege and commander heroes, which are more specialized roles that bring different strengths as you build a team.

I'm super excited about the healing class. I'm a priest in WoW and I've sort of missed healing abilities in D3 where all classes are DPS pretty much and monk's heals are weak.

Still, I want to try them all out ASAP :D

Nice. I'm interested in it only because I'm a huge fan of Dota 2. I've put in a lot of hours into it.
