I just use Google Voice. It sends an email to my Gmail for missed calls...

Even for ones that don't leave a message?

People may find it funny that on a my Galaxy S3 I use a Windows Phone 8 Launcher Called Launcher 8. I've tried a BUNCH of different launchers. This one i'm in love with. Very customizable.

The Calender in the middle is  called "Neat calender" .. and the email boxes on top are a free widget called "[Gmail Unread] shows you the number of new emails above each email account.

So anyone who has not yet tried this launcher I would recommended it. There is a free version but then there is also a paid one, which I paid for. All of the functionality is in the free also but on the apps screen there is a small banner at the bottom.

launcher 8 is grand, so is launcher 7, i've dabbled with all of them over the ages but I'm using stock on kit kat (every sense I got my nexus 4 really)

my question for you however is why would you have such an ugly case on such a lovely phone, there are much nicer alternatives....

Oh in that case because it's built like a brick shithouse! Watch the video

I'll admit it does sadden me to have to put such a think clunky case on such a thin beautiful phone. On the flip side it is an investment I would like to projector.  Seeing how it's both not insured and out of contract. $220 on eBay

Just out of curiosity have you tried Buzz Launcher, it's kinda cool cause of the way it handles themes and no ads...

Even for ones that don't leave a message?

Absolutely. You can set it such that it will email you on missed calls (whether the person leaves a voicemail or not), and you can set it to text (and/or email) you the transcription of the voicemail. It's pretty slick, and the Google voice app is great.

So for a while I used the Nova launcher. Used that for a while and it wasn't bad. But ultimately I went back to Launcher 8. Something about it just makes everything feel easier to get to.

I have moved onto a more attractive theme. Looking back I will admit that solid green UI was ugly as sin.

Still use APEX myself.   And I like a nice/clean home screen.  I dont have any icons cluttering up my phone or my desktop.  Anything I use a lot is "pinned" at the bottom.
