I didn't think I was giving an opinion on your suggestions, was trying to delicately mention that some of those features have been around for a while

As for new developments, I don't know, smartphones have become so much like miniature tablets now I wouldn't even know where to start suggesting put this in or put that in, without it being just that, a gimmick :)

And I do get that I can fail at a tactful response, wasn't my intention

What do you think will come out of Cupertino in the next few years?  Here's my predictions...

2014

iPhone 6: RFID

iPad: Finger print recognition.

Apple's response to rfid is iBecan (LE bluetooth)

2015

iPhone 6s: Facial recognition

iPad: RFID

Again iBecan will win over rfid

2016

iPhone 7: Inductive Charging

iPad: Facial recognition

Until power grid/qi charging standard is determined then apple will never put it in

2017

iPhone 7s: Stereo speakers

iPad: Inductive Charging

Until power grid/qi charging standard is determined then apple will never put it in

2018

iPhone 8: Dual cameras on back.

iPad: Keys on smart covers

2019

iPhone 8s: Dual flashes on back.

iPad: Dual cameras on back

2020

iPhone 9: Dual cameras on front.

iPad: Dual flashes on back.

2021

iPhone 9s: iOSX support.

iPad: Dual cameras on front + iOSX

My responses in bold beneath each line.  The rest of these are just un-needed.

Not to get my head ripped of for posting this, but most of those features are already available, (some have proven to be too gimmicky to succeed)

most of the features that phone manufacturers add are Gimmicky.

Why does it matter if certain features are already available in some way or form?  That's a serious question too.

I know that you didn't want comments on your suggestions, but can I ask what the purpose of dual cameras and dual flashes are? Would one be wide-angle and the other telephoto? And would the dual flash just mean a brighter flash?

I can't think of any revolutionary ideas that would come from Apple anytime soon. Although if more people could get behind NFC that would be interesting.

The 5s has dual flash now...doesn't it?

I'm not sure. My question was a genuine one rather than a jab, I have no idea and would be intrigued to know what dual cameras on the back and dual flashes would be used for over a single lens or single flash. :)

I imagine Siri (and other speech recognition programs) will become a lot more intelligent... not to the point of jarvis I imagine, but close on time table of 2021. Also with the abundance of cash, I would see apple leading the way in this field.

LG tried that with one of their opitimus phones, to take 3d pictures

I never said it mattered

HTC  made a phone with 3D camera that is called HTC EVO 3D.

HTC EVO 3D has dual flashes and dual cameras.

I still have it.  :)

Hello,

You know that you are predicting technology in a 8 year timeframe. It is impossible for you, or any scientific research to, properally predict it.

Every single technology you have listed already exists. OS X will not exist at all.

3D video would be a good upgrade in the next year or so as would external add ons like an iRing that notifies the user of various stuff or can be used as an iKey for Apple products

HTC did too with one of their EVO models.

It never excited anyone enough to make it a keeper and it died a silent death.

Edit:  I need to learn to refresh before I post, heh.

iOSX you mean.

So...will they skip version 10 or just move to a new OS?

NFC/RFID will never exist.  That is why they created iBecan.  Inductive charging will never exist until the qi/power grid fight is over and one standard exists.

Why would they have OS X on a tablet or iPhone? Apple has made it retry clear that they are going towards iOS especially with more and more iOS features coming to MacOS.
