SkyDrive coming to Xbox One

Recommended Posts

Nowhere? And nobody said it does either?

Showan was trying to say the $100 difference closed the gap because he got apps like Skydrive, which isn't true. $100 extra for the console and then more for Gold to use it.

Still lame.  I'll be paying 100.00 extra because its worth a 100.00 extra.  Not because of skydrive..

You'll be paying $100 extra because other than not buying it at all, you don't have a choice :P

I think they should be paying me the $100 to go through that torture then :p

*You couldn't pay me enough to use (vanilla) Win8/8.1

The Gold paywall thing is getting really old (if it wasn't already). Just let it go.

Almost everyone posting in this forum will play online on their next-gen console of choice (PS4 or XBO). You will have to pay for online MP and once you do BUT BUT GOLD PAYWALL only makes you look desperate.

Does it? I was just pointing out that Skydrive isn't free to every user.

Won't put a stop to the phrase paywall anytime soon just because you don't like hearing it.

The paywall stuff is a legit debate to have.

I happen to think that apps should not require Gold unless they offer something extra you don't get elsewhere or are only available on the console.

All other apps need to be in an open app market.  The day MS does that, it will really open the system up.  I think they will do that at some point.

I pay $25/year for XB Gold which I think is perfectly reasonable.  Like it or not, subscription services are where the world is heading as customers want more frequent updates and are less willing to pay for them.

Also, grow up and quit the pointless bickering.

wah, wah, I don't see why I have to pay for multiplayer. I can get it for free, ###### XBOX live, I will never pay for multiplayer

...sony announces mp is now a pay service

so what, I pay for it anyways, its cheap too,and you get some free games, and a nice lady even comes by every weekend and provides a happy ending

Not just SkyDrive (although I love how it's implemented into the TV TV TV portion of Xbox Live)... But the other possibilities that are coming down the pipe...

If people just want to game, and don't like what next gen is starting off with. they should stick with their PS3's and 360's and Wii's...  Most next gen launch titles can be purchased on now gen consoles today...

Xbox One is showing something different out the door... the 360 and One and resemble each other aesthetically somewhat and that's where the similarities end...

The $500 value is going to show SOONER rather than later...

People mindlessly defending the undefendable tactic of charging for free services AND charging you to use services you already pay for also gets old.

The skydrive app on Windows and on XB1 are very close, visually there are some minor changes but it's basically the same layout of tiles (bigger on the XB1 version).   They also said it doesn't access things that aren't pictures or videos from the video so I don't think you'll be seeing your documents through it (doubt that's the point or idea anyways).

As far as the whole agreeing to ToS and so on, correct me if I'm wrong here but unless you don't want to update your console at all, and never go online with it, then you have no choice but to agree to their new changes and install the new OS/firmware when they push it out.   There's also the fact that it comes with newer games on the disc at some point and those games will then require you to install it and agree to it and so on and so forth.   So it's not like you actually have a choice unless you don't want to go online at all and don't want to play newer games.    This would apply to both systems of course.

I agree, but not in every thread about every app, as tends to happen here. That's why its gets old. That and we all kinda know everyone's pov on that subject already :P

Anyway SkyDrive integrations looks great, just another thing that's going to make this console epic. I don't usually actively go to SkyDrive, but my WP8 and W8.1 devices all upload to it automatically so the integration with X1 will be useful.

I don't really use my skydrive as much as I used to because of the change they made in 8.1 and removing the ability to have metro and desktop Skydrive installed so I can't see this being a big thing for me. Dropbox on the other hand would be much more useful, still I hope this is just a first step in things to come from a windows based app store and maybe kick dev's into doing the development on the Windows 8 platform.
