jwoodfin09
When browsing to this link: Can I safely delete "System Reserve" partition in W8.1 - Microsoft (Windows) Discussion & Support - Neowin Forums Firefox 25.0 for Mac on OS X 10.9 crashes, and I click Restart Firefox. The report is sent and the browser crashes when reloading. It looks like there may be some code implemented that tries to default my view to the Best Answer post, and Firefox does not seem to like that. Any ideas? I've cleared my cache and it doesn't fix it. I click Quit Firefox, and restart the browser. Firefox tries to reload the page and it fails again.

0sit0
10.9 here as well, no issues though. Maybe a plugin you use?
Brandon H Supervisor Posted November 12, 2013 Supervisor Share Posted November 12, 2013 try restarting firefox in safe mode (disables extensions) to see if any of your extensions are causing the issue
Steven P. Administrators Posted November 12, 2013 Administrators Share Posted November 12, 2013 The link doesn't have anything to do with Best Answer anyway. It's just a background color change, like Birthdays or post1, post2 (white/grey).

Haggis Veteran Posted November 13, 2013 Veteran Share Posted November 13, 2013 Do you have 2 graphics cards? there is lots of stuff here about it http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=firefox+25+EXC_BAD_ACCESS+%2F+KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS&safe=active#q=firefox+EXC_BAD_ACCESS+%2F+KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS&safe=active all seems to point to bad memory
+virtorio MVC Posted November 13, 2013 MVC Share Posted November 13, 2013 Firefox crashed for me yesterday on that page, but today it doesn't. OSX 10.9/Firefox 25.0 It seemed to be graphics related, perhaps the contents of a banner ad was causing the problem.
Karl L.
I do not have a problem rendering that page in Firefox 25.0 on Debian. However based on your crash report, it looks like Firefox is crashing when it tries to render a layer in its graphics engine. Since graphics rendering in Firefox is highly platform-specific, it makes sense that you are having a problem on OS X which others do not encounter in the same version of Firefox on Windows. Taking into account virtorio's claim that he was having the same problem yesterday but not today, his conjecture that a banner ad is triggering the bug seems plausible. There are a couple of other people using Firefox 26 Beta on OS X who are not having the same issue, so it is possible that the bug is fixed in that release. If you are still experiencing this problem and would like to stick with the Firefox stable channel, disabling layers acceleration might avoid the bug. I don't own a Mac anymore so I can't test this conjecture, but it seems like a likely work-around based on your crash report. To disable layers acceleration, navigate to "about:config", set "layers.acceleration.disabled" to "true", and restart Firefox. Steven P. Administrators Posted November 13, 2013 Administrators Share Posted November 13, 2013 So this isn't Neowin specific? As per this: Its already fixed in Firefox 26 Beta 3. So next update will fix it for you.
+Zlip792 MVC Posted November 13, 2013 MVC Share Posted November 13, 2013 So this isn't Neowin specific? Nope, if we see relevant bug, it is related to SVG element drawing in background.. This testcase also reproduce it on 3 out of 5 Firefox 25: http://jsbin.com/udanavi/2/ This is workaround which I don't know works or not but posted by one guy in crash signature bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=844819#c61 Karl L., Haggis and Steven P. 3 Share
